La Chimère by: Memories on Board

La Chimère Essence: Charm in Búzios

There was always that fear of having children and having to completely change our style of traveling around – or having tostop traveling or traveling less.

We have always loved traveling and visiting hotels and Pousada (inns) of several styles. But some places enchantus more than others. We also love those big huge hotels, full of privileges, with thousandsof options for children and adults (park, monitoring, kids menu, kids club, recreation, games etc).

But there are also (thankfully) many small and beautiful places, charming and full of love that receive our little ones with such affection, that we exchange any resort for them, without thinking twice.

That’s what happened to the adorable and romantic Pousada La Chimère in Búzios. Which is not the SUPER ‘kids-friendly’ type – with playgrounds, playroom, etc – but it made our little one so comfortable and made him feel so ‘at home’ that without a doubt, it put many super resorts out there to shade.

I don’t know about you, but we don’t see this “infrastructure for children” as ESSENTIAL, but as a `PLUS’. So, it’s a good thing La Chimèreexists and is just a few kilometers from our city. Whew!

THE POUSADA (inn)

I would say that La Chimère is a home away from home. The service is so welcoming, you have no idea! The employees are kind and in a simple conversation it seems they’ve known you for centuries.

It’s a small place, but the rooms are pure style and comfort. And breakfast? nothing but Delicious!

LOCATION

If all the wonderful infrastructure and service were not enough, the Pousada (inn) is located on the beach with the most beautiful and peaceful sunset in Búzios: at “dos Ossos” Beach.

When we leave the inn, in a few steps we are already on the sand of the beach. A delightful and calm beach to enjoy the delicious end of the afternoon with your child.

And if you still want to take that little walk along “Rua da Pedras” (the most famous venue in the city), it is a 15-minute walk away, for those who are disposed to go for it?

ACCOMODATIONS

La Chimere is a super intimate place, it has few accommodations.

But all rooms are very spacious, beautifully decorated, airy and bright; It has a wonderful King size bed, beautiful bathroom, closet and, in our case, a delightful balcony overlooking the pool.

There isonly a “but”, the structure of the rooms comprises only 1 double and one single bed. So, if you need to travel with more than one child, for example, I recommend contacting the reception and finding a way to adapt the accommodation for everyone. I’m sure they’ll find a way.

| • BABY Tips • | If you need, they can set up a cot or an extra single bed in the room. . In our case, as the bed was King, we chose to let Pedro sleep in bed with us (don’t judge me).

FOOD

Without a doubt, breakfast is one of the strong points (already included in the room rate). Everything is delicious and fresh with a lot of variety – breads and cakes, fruits, juices, yogurts, and there is also a menu of delicious hot dishes, such as tapiocas, eggs and other delights.

And if you want, you can also ask for a fresh cappuccino that they make right away for you.

The Pousada (Inn) does not have a restaurant, but they do offer SNACKS, such as pizzas, sandwiches and little bites during the day and at night In addition, the pool bar offers killer drinks, try it!

INFRASTRUCTURE AND LEISURE

Despite being a small Inn, the social area of the Inn is enchanting and has several rest areas. But the strong point, with no doubt, the swimming pool: a heated pool + hydro (yes, hydromassage).

Despite being a small place, throughout our stay we realize that all COVID-19 prevention protocolswere strictly respected: such as the use of a mask, sanatizers, disposable gloves to be served during breakfast, etc.

Regarding the pool, in times of pandemic, we have to follow a precautionary rule: to use the pool and avoid crowding, guests should schedule a time in advance at the reception. All very simple and fast, no fuss.
